GROUND FORCE ONE DRIVER PRE-TRIP EXTERNAL INSPECTION

Rear Passenger Side Compartment

Jump Start Terminals

If you have to Jump Start the bus, terminals are located in rear compartment

Positive Terminal on the top

Negative Terminal on the bottom


Bus Jump Start Notes

You can only Jump Start a bus with another bus that uses same battery wattage. 

Can not Jump Start a Bus with a normal car

Buses must be matching types ie. Coach Bus to Coach Bus. (24 Volt System)

Different Bus Types and Bus Sizes use different batteries and have different wattage requirements. 

 

Porta Potty connect located in rear compartment

This is used to drain the restroom system

 

Regeneration Switch/Button located in rear compartment

At times the vehicle may need to be regenerated. Service will tell us when it is time. 

To Regenerate the Bus – hold the button/switch up for 5 seconds.

Regeneration takes 30-minutes. A 30-minute window is needed to regenerate.

Rear Compartment (Engine Compartment) Lever is located in rear compartment (yellow handle). 

To open the engine compartment firmly pus the lever in (toward the bus).

Double check the compartment releases on both driver and passenger sides.

External Rear Engine Compartment (Engine Off)

 

Power Steering Fluid

Located near right side of the compartment.

 

Check Vehicle Belts

Make sure all belts are intact there are no crack, frays, or defects.

Confirm all belts are tight, secure and not loose. 

AC Compressor Belt

Main Engine Belt

 

Oil Fluid Check

Use Oil dip stick to check the engine oil level. 

Always confirm the Dipstick is clicked fully into place 

If Dipstick is not fully clicked in and secured, pressure from the engine may cause oil to leak out. 

Oil may blow all over the back vehicle compartment and can cause damage to the engine and timing belts. 

 

Oil Fluid Filling

Fill Engine Oil tank to adequate level indicated by Oil Dipstick level. 

After filling Oil double check the Oil Dipstick is fulling clicked into place. 

 

Coolant (Engine Coolant Reservoir)

Coolant needs to be filled to indicated level prior to each trip.

Always put the coolant top on top on the rear compartment door so that you do not for get it. (you will hear/see the coolant top drop if attempting to close the compartment door without replacing the coolant cap first)

 

External Rear Engine Compartment (Engine On)

 

Transmission Fluid 

Only check Transmission fluid when the vehicle is running.

Transmission fluid is filled through the same port where the Transmission dip stick lives.

 

Check Vehicle Belts

Make sure all belts are running smoothly with visual examination.

Confirm all belts are secure and not loose with no unusual noises occurring.
